It had been Mr. Korkan who suggested opening up the Princess’s vagina.  There was debate on this, which the Princess presided over silently.  Would it be out of place in the context of the speech?  But the Spring Equinox ceremony was always inspiring, set on a temporary stage in front of the Palace, and they finally agreed that the Princess offering the Spring Benediction would be a comforting callback to the days of peace and independence.  The difficulty was in filming it.  Though she had memorized the speech, there were problems of lighting, delaying the taping for about half an hour.  This being (of course) a black-and-white filming, the contrast had to be adjusted so that her skin did not look overly pale next to her pubic hair which in turn tended to “shadow” her labia.  Then there was the pit of total blackness that appeared when she spread herself open.  At one point five crewmen were clustered between her legs as she held herself in position, as they tried to get this or that lamp in the right spot so that something could be seen of her interior.  A speculum was considered, but turned out not to be necessary.  The Princess with her well-developed internal muscles was finally able to flex them at the right angle so as to permit light inside.
